Pink's New Video Expose

When Pink found out what happens to sheep whose wool is made into sweaters, scarves, and other garments, she was so outraged that she agreed to narrate an exposé of what she calls the "sadistic" methods of the wool industry. Like most people, Pink believed that wool farmers in Australia, where the majority of the world's wool originates, merely sheared or shaved the sheep to gather their wool, which doesn't sound so bad but couldn't be further from the truth.

Each year in Australia, millions of sheep who are raised for their wool are mutilated without any painkillers. Lambs' tails are cut off, their ears are hole-punched, and males are castrated within only a few weeks of birth. Sheep also have huge chunks of skin and flesh cut from their backsides in a cruel practice known as "mulesing." Countless sheep die from disease, lack of shelter, and neglect every year, while hundreds of lambs die from exposure and starvation before they're 8 weeks old. When they're no longer producing enough wool, sheep are crammed onto ships with thousands of other sheep and sent to the Middle East, where they'll have their throats slit while they're still conscious.
