Tell Baltimore Ravens That Using Live Animals as Mascots Is a Fumble
The Baltimore Ravens are planning to feature live African white nape ravens at upcoming games, and their plans include having a bird fly out of a smoky tunnel ahead of the players. A stadium full of bright lights, screaming fans, and loud noises—including air horns, marching bands, and amplified sound systems—is terrifying and distressing for animals. The birds would be transported from place to place as if they were equipment, and they couldn't possibly understand why. PETA is urging the Ravens to bolster team spirit without forcing animals to endure boisterous sporting events, and we need your help! Please tell the Baltimore Ravens that using live animals as mascots is cruel and unacceptable. Urge officials to cancel their plans to use live animals, and tell them to use only costumed human mascots instead.
Please keep all correspondence polite. Anything else might hurt our efforts.
