What's At Stake?Boycott Kentucky Fried Cruelty!Why KFC?
More than 850 million chickens are tortured and killed each year for KFC restaurants. Undercover investigations have revealed shocking cruelty to animals in the factory farms and slaughterhouses of KFC’s suppliers, where birds are crammed by the tens of thousands into sheds that stink of ammonia fumes from urine and feces and are given barely enough room to move—each bird lives in a space about the size of a sheet of paper. They suffer broken bones from being fed growth-inducing drugs (which cause them to grow so quickly that they become crippled under their own weight), being subjected to careless handling (when workers roughly grab birds by their legs and stuff them into crates), and being shackled upside-down at slaughterhouses. Many chickens are still conscious when their throats are cut and when they are dumped into tanks of scalding-hot water for feather removal. When they’re killed, chickens are still babies, not yet 2 months old out of a natural life span of more than 10 years. Think about that for a second; if you eat at KFC, you’re eating babies. We can’t persuade KFC to improve the lives of chickens killed for its restaurants without you! Sign the pledge to boycott KFC and let the company know that its cruelty to animals will not be tolerated. Go here for more ways to help.
